We all know the famous startup story of Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs, who built the original Apple computer in a neighborhood garage. Well, Contegix, a St. Louis, Missouri-based managed hosting and Internet infrastructure company, wants to give another promising tech startup the opportunity to find success. If you’re hoping to start a new tech company or know of another budding entrepreneur who is, you’ll want to check out the Start-up, Boot-upTM contest. The winner of this competitionwill receive more than $75,000 in new technology tools and office space to make his or her dream a reality.

“One of the biggest barriers to launching a startup is access to the much-needed capital for operational expenses such as servers and development tools. We’ve been there and we understand the struggles new startups face,” said Matthew Porter, chief executive officer of Contegix.

Not-yet-startups as well as startups formed in 2010 and 2011 are eligible. Entrepreneurs will be judged on a variety of factors, including:

  • Competitive differentiation
  • Future growth plans
  • Sales strategy
  • Development platform
  • Promise of commercial success or positive social change
  • Dependence on cloud technology
