Who would have thought that the London Olympics, the presidential election campaign and the 50th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe’s death would all be overshadowed by a chicken sandwich? Yet that was the case when the Chick-fil-A controversy erupted. It all started when the quick-serve chain’s president, Dan Cathy, spoke out against same-sex unions in a little-known Christian publication, The Baptist Press.
