I’ve written about the Give Me 5 program on SmallBizDaily.com previously, but I thought this special event was worth a shout out. The Give Me 5 program was created by American Express OPEN and WIPP (Women Impacting Public Policy) to help women business owners secure federal contracts from the U.S. government.

This Thursday, April 14, Give Me 5 will present a FREE, one-hour webinar to help women business owners sort out eligibility requirements, explain contract set-asides and spell out the step-by-step requirements for certification.

Give Me 5: How to Self-Certify for the WOSB Federal Contract Program (Part 2)

Date: Thursday, April 14, 2011

Time: 3-4 p.m. ET / 12 p.m.-1 p.m. PT

Where: Virtual

As of February 4, 2011, the Small Business Administration’s new Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contract Program went into effect and the first contracts expect to be rewarded by 4th quarter fiscal year 2011. Over the next several months the WOSB will reach out to women business owners to encourage them to participate in the program and to get documents and certification in order. For more on how to get involved, visit www.sba.gov/wosb.

And don’t forget to sign up for the free tutorial webinar taking place this Thursday!
