Finding a way to be thankful no matter what 2016 has brought

By Rieva Lesonsky

I will not mince words here—I cannot wait for 2016 to end. It’s hard to think of what I’m thankful for this year, a year when some of the people I love the most are battling cancer. But I’m fighting hard to get my inner Pollyanna back.

Some of you have had a good year; others, not so much. But no matter which kind of year you’ve experienced, this is an appropriate time to think about the good and be grateful for the solutions and people that have helped us get through 2016.

I, like most of you, pretty much work 24/7. This week, I’m going to try to truly relax for the four-day holiday. If you’re feeling stressed out, I recommend you do the same. For those who can’t relax, like you small retailers who are in the heat of your busy season (I understand—that’s the world I grew up in), try to find some quick moments to thank those who’ve helped you get through this year.

Despite the challenges this year has brought, I am grateful to the companies that have created solutions that make my life easier (Office 365, I couldn’t function without you), our wonderful clients, our support system, including Dave Cornblum and Yousuf Khaliq at Blaster Web Services, Teresa Ciulla, Steve Cooper, my two fabulous partners Karen Axelton and Maria Haubrich who keep me sane, and of course you, our loyal readers.

Happy Turkey Day, America!
