We’ve reached that point where we start looking back and assessing the year as one whole piece – rather than the many days, hours and difficult decisions that made up 2015 for small business owners.

As they got a chance to reflect in a recent survey from payroll provider SurePayroll, small businesses, startups and entrepreneurs had a positive outlook on their results from the year. Only 3% called it a bad year, and 12% said it was the best year they ever had.

Companies in the early stages said they were seeing tremendous growth – and the majority of small businesses expect growth on a yearly basis.

The information technology industry seemed to see especially strong demand, while construction, insurance and medical firms met some roadblocks in the way of maintaining profit margins and regulatory issues.
