Employee satisfaction is necessary for any business to run productively. If your workers are unhappy, this will most likely show in sales, productivity and customer service stats. The bottom line is that low employee satisfaction translates into no customer satisfaction. Not all people find confronting others with their problems a comfortable experience. Establish a way to present issues and concerns anonymously if preferred. Surveys are a good way to do so. Send out a company-wide email once a week or twice a month to gage the general feelings of your employees and provide a space for them to disclose frustration if needed.
Give Positive Feedback
It’s easy to critique someone when they’ve done something wrong, but it’s harder to provide positive feedback when they are doing things right. We often assume that good behavior does not need to be acknowledged like bad behavior does. This is false and not at all helpful to those employees that need positive reinforcement to ensure they are appreciated and on the right track. Build morale by taking the time to learn the skills and unique abilities of your employees. This type of feedback is free of cost, but priceless beyond measure when you consider the effects it can have on productivity.
All employees love to be rewarded with food from time to time. Set up team lunches or companywide meetings with free food for all participants. Boost the morale of employees by rewarding those with exceptional numbers to a catered breakfast or lunch from. Reward Special Efforts
Reward employees that go above and beyond the call of duty. Avoid rewarding employees just for showing up to work on time. Give out incentives for goals exceeded and encourage work productivity by spotlighting those efforts.
It’s easy to give caught up in the numbers and overall success of the company and fail to look deeper into the welfare of your employees. Their morale and general happiness is absolutely essential to the betterment of the company. Treat your employees with respect and transparency. They are, after all, the spokes and wheels that keep your business going.
