We won’t be discussing trends today—the day before Thanksgiving. You’ll have enough to digest in the next few days; I don’t want to add to your burden.

As I’ve written before, President John F. Kennedy once said, “We must find the time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives.”

For all of us that’s obviously our customers and clients. But you know that. It’s just as important to be grateful to the people who’ve helped you get where you are today.

If we’re honest, that list should be long. Friends and family of course. But don’t forget your support team: accountants, lawyers, web designers and others. Has someone helped you raise money? Write a business plan? Did you turn to your local Small Business Development Center or SCORE office to get help?

And please don’t forget your employees—without them most of us would truly be lost.

Amidst all this, don’t forget to thank yourself. It’s been a rough few years for many businesses, but many recent surveys say a lot of you have had a good year, and are feeling optimistic about 2015. So give yourself a pat on the back for having the temerity to push through the obstacles and the courage to keep striving toward your goals.

As for us here at SmallBizDaily, we’re thankful to you. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
