giving thanksThanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays, because there’s really no obligation to do anything other than get together with loved ones, enjoy each other’s company and, of course, share a festive meal.

I also love Thanksgiving because I think it’s important to have an “attitude of gratitude.” This time of year, we take time to recognize the things we’re thankful for all year long, but don’t always think about during the hustle and bustle of running a business.

This year, I’m thankful that my business—founded just before the economy took the biggest dive since the great Depression—is going strong, after more than 2 ½ years. I’m thankful that business (knock wood) is on an upswing, and that things seem to be looking up not just for GrowBiz Media, but for the economy as a whole.

I’m thankful for my business partners and also for my many unofficial “partners” – that is, all the friends and colleagues who I regularly turn to to share advice and support. Since we started GrowBiz Media, I’ve met so many fantastic people who have been willing to share their ideas, enthusiasm and time with me. It really does take a village to run a small business—especially these days. I couldn’t do it without my “village.”

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? I’d love to hear. Have a wonderful holiday!
